Become A DCTV Volunteer
Public access thrives on local citizens volunteering their time and talents. DCTV is committed to training and encouraging members of the community to get involved with the production of local events.
We offer opportunities to learn all aspects of television production from camera operations, audio recording, editing, lighting, all the way to the creation of your own program!
Some of our past volunteers have continued their education by attending classes to further develop their talents. Television production on the local level has no boundaries when it comes to developing your talents.
Camera & Editing Instructional Classes
DCTV offers six-week instructional classes on basic operations of cameras and editors. All classes are held at the offices of DCTV. Classes are free of charge to residents of the Defiance area with a minimal charge for materials. A certificate of completion is awarded at the end of each class. Sign up today!
To learn more about our instructional classes call Mark Newman, Technical Director, at 419-784-3401 or check out our brochure for more information.
Produce Your Own Show
Producing a program can be a very rewarding experience. Working out your ideas through scripting and setting goals for your program will allow you the creative expression to communicate with your audience through television.
The next step in becoming a producer is to utilize the camera and editing skills you have learned to complete your production. Having a vision of what you want to convey and setting an objective of the final product are two of the most important components in becoming a producer. We can assist you in achieving your dream of becoming a television producer.
There is nothing more exciting than viewing your program on television. The sense of accomplishment in producing your own show for others to enjoy will bring you great pride. Who knows, perhaps your program will inspire and provide incentive for others to follow your lead.
Once you have completed your program, it will be ready for broadcast on Defiance Community Television!
